Past and Pending Features in Exhibitions

In 2025, Kamaeri began a new direction in her creative journey.
Botanical concepts and an essence of environmental sustainability, human connection with our natural surroundings,
motivates the stronger emphasis on flower sculptures and arrangements, and nature-and-surrealism-style visuals.
‍
A multidisciplinary and experimental approach is embraced throughout the creative process, despite the challenges it brings to exhibiting and documenting her art pieces. She believes it reflects the intersections and coexistence of life forms and ecosystems, as found in natural environments; and furthermore, is a natural inclination from having a background in arts and science.

Illustrations

Prior to the change in creative direction, Kamaeri created in a more traditional form of painting and contemporary digital art illustrations. The pieces in this section were created during/before 2023.

The illustrations depict a blend of South-east Asian culture and Australian culture, and explore an androgynous and dreamy fantasy aesthetic. Recurring symbolism includes shade of blue, acanthus leaves, and animals.

the sea is another name for the sky."
An impressionistic and abstract style painting of blue sky with a large cumulus cloud. It is quite vibrant in colour, with a blue and teal, contrasted with beige, orange, purple. The cloud blends in the shape of sea waves, with a tiny person standing amongst it. Words have been collaged onto a part of the sky in the top-right corner, repeatedly reading “somewhere the sea is another name for the sky”.
